The Junction Pump Station Rehabilitation project in Eden, NC is the rehabilitation and upgrade of an existing pump station. The improvements include converting the existing pumps to direct- coupled variable frequency drive submersible motor pumps, replacement of existing piping and valves, and installation of an emergency pump connection for current & future pump station bypass. In addition, the existing wet well will be inspected, cleaned, and coated with a high- performance coating. Electrical improvements include elevating the electrical controls, installation of an automatic transfer switch and installing a permanent generator on an elevated platform supported on micro-piles. General site improvements include installation of an earthen berm, gravel road, concrete sidewalk extension, and cattle wire fence removal; relocation. Overcoming Challenges Presented – JCC Crew worked the unexpected challenges of water backpressure from the WWTP to install the pump station bypass line to complete a planned shutdown working through the challenges presented for a successful installation.
